Awards and Continued Success in 2009 - 2010

Investing in Social Change Award - Diversity Hub are delighted to announce that they won the Investing in Social Change Award.  The Directory of Social Change describes Diversity Hub as:  “an organisation that has thought really hard about the ways in which they can best invest their time, skills or money to achieve social change.  By assessing the need, bringing others on board and making effective use of their resources, they turn rhetoric into reality and achieve a real difference”. The award, which has been uniquely designed for each winner, by renowned cartoonist Grizelda, was presented at an awards event In London on November 26th.

Director of Diversity Hub, Val Carpenter, who received the award on behalf of the charity was particularly pleased that Diversity Hub – which invests in people – was the winner.  She said:  “To win this award, when so many well known organisations were short-listed, and especially because it was the result of a public vote, means so much to us.  Our work equips people to be able to work for change in their communities by reducing bullying, prejudice, discrimination and conflict.  It is clear to us that we will only achieve community cohesion if we invest in people.  What creates social change is when we can shift hearts and minds.

Young Partners Award - Diversity Hub are also delighted to announce that in December 2009 they were the proud winners of the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services, Young Partners Award - for the Midlands and South West.

The Award is given to oraganisations that show an outstanding commitment to youth participation and involving young people in all aspects of their decision making.

We would like to send our thanks to all of our young volunteers for their continued hard work and support
